SIH 2025 — Ministry of Ayush
Problem
Design interoperable APIs that integrate the NAMASTE traditional medicine portal and ICD-11 Traditional Medicine Module-2 (TM2) into EHR-compliant Electronic Medical Record systems for the Ministry of Ayush (PSID 25026).
Architecture
Key Decisions
- FHIR R4-aligned API design — standardized resource types (Patient, Encounter, Condition, MedicationRequest) mapped to traditional medicine concepts.
- ICD-11 TM2 code mapping — Ayurvedic, Unani, and Siddha diagnoses mapped to international classification codes for cross-system interoperability.
- NAMASTE integration layer — bidirectional data flow between the national portal and hospital EMR systems.
- Standards-driven architecture — designed for adoption by any EHR system following ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission) guidelines.
Outcome
Selected among top 5 teams out of 500+ at the national Grand Finale (Ministry of Education, AICTE). Demonstrated working FHIR-aligned APIs under continuous expert evaluation.
